This video explains the21 Things non-seat time based pilot sponsored by Superintendent Mike Flanagan. MDE intends to study effective ways educators can earn Continuing Education Units outside formal professional learning opportunities (i.e., seat time). As part of the first pilot, MDE will award 1 SB-CEU the work educators done over the past year to develop their personnel technology skill level outside formal professional development activities. Teachers completing the pre-assessment will earn 1 SBCEU. The results of the pre-assessment will be returned to both the teacher and their district.
